Cohort 1 of our NC Employee Ownership Ambassador Program is in the books!

This past week, we wrapped up the inaugural cohort of our NC Employee Ownership Ambassador Program. Our five participants (pictured above at our hybrid meeting last week) represented economic development, wealth management, business owners, higher education, and Small Business Centers (SBCs). They learned how employee ownership can protect jobs, increase community wealth, and create a more vibrant, inclusive economy. Additionally, participants learned about the major organizations and leaders in employee ownership nationally and in NC and about the primary forms of employee ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), Worker Cooperatives, and Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs).

Also, a big thank you to the various employee ownership experts, leaders at employee-owned companies, and business service providers who shared their experience and wisdom as guest speakers!

With our first cohort complete, we are looking forward to having future NC Employee Ownership Ambassador Program cohorts and spreading employee ownership education across North Carolina. We will be announcing the dates for Cohort 2 soon!
