CE CREDIT FOR ADVISORS

Your clients are going to sell. Most of them do not know that selling to their own employees is an option, and fewer still know it can be done at market rate with real tax advantages. Advisor's Edge is free continuing education that puts employee ownership in your toolkit alongside the exit routes you already advise on.

Who it is for

CPAs, exit planners, financial planners, and attorneys who counsel North Carolina business owners. No prior knowledge of employee ownership is assumed.

What sessions cover

  • How your clients can sell at market rate to their employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), a worker cooperative, or an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT)
  • The fundamentals of each structure, and which fits which kind of company
  • The financial and tax advantages, including capital gains deferral and the S Corp exemption
  • Best practices for guiding a client through the transition, and where you fit in the deal team
  • Real North Carolina conversions, and what they actually looked like in practice

Business owners, advisors, chamber members, employees, a mix? The more specific, the better we can pitch it.
Even a rough answer helps. "Understand that employee ownership exists" is a perfectly good goal.
